Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Where are you located?
A: I live in Northampton, MA and serve over a dozen towns in the greater Pioneer Valley area.
Q: Do you charge extra for driving to my home?
A: The first 20 miles round trip are included in my fee. There is a charge of $0.50/mile round trip past the 20
miles to cover the cost of additional mileage.
Q: How many lessons will it take to train my dog?
A: It depends on the problem and how much guidance you would like with the training. An average client will
have an initial behavior consultation and 3 follow-up sessions, while other clients may only need one visit or
prefer to make an appointment every week. At the end of each session I will make a recommendation as to
whether we should schedule another meeting. We will continue with the training until you are satisfied with your
pet's progress.
Q: How long does a training session last?
A: The initial behavior consultation lasts about 2 hours. During this consultation I will take a detailed history of
your pet's behavior, health, and habits. I will then outline a plan of action with your training goals in mind. The
follow up training lessons last up to 1 hour. These lessons consist of answering questions, learning and
practicing the training methods, and altering the plan to correspond with your pet's progress and your changing
needs.
Q: Can my cat be trained?
A: Yes! Most feline behavior problems can be solved with a
simple combination of training and behavior modification that
will leave you both healthier and happier.
Q: What if I have multiple pets?
A: The more the merrier! I will design a plan to meet the needs
of each pet and help you find organized ways to reach your training
goals. In most cases one appointment may be shared between your pets.
